Indian Supreme Court denies Merck’s pleas over Januvia/ Janumet generics.

An update to the whole Januvia/ Janumet debacle over in India, today the Indian court said Merck’s could proceed with its lawsuit but refused it’s request for Glenmark’s to stop manufacturing and selling the generic copies Zita and Zita Met. The request from Merck was done on the grounds that the salts used by Glenmark in the generic copies were not of generic nature, but instead the same as the innovator’s. The request was nonetheless denied.
